Speak, Eat and Play!

Helow it's Sandra again! hehehe...!

There she goes that "cunning" little smile, hmm. Makes you wanna laugh and at the same time kinda... *grin...*. Anyway, Sandra's next few words after "Ma Ma" and "Pa Pa" are "Neh Neh Neh.." (translation: I want Milk), "Mum Mum Mum..." (translation: I want Milk), "Ma Ma Neh Neh..." (translation: I want Milk), "Ma Ma Mum Mum Mum...", (translation: I want Milk) and last but not least, "Ma Ma Pa Pa Mum Mum Neh Mum Pa Pa Neh Neh Eeeeeee www !" (translation: I want Milk very badly give me now or...)

She now cuts down on breast feeds, and more bottles and cereals. Thus, the new "vibrant" smell of her poo is getting on Mummy's nerves, hahah. She also gets her first taste on Baby Biscuits! The manufacturers sure goes on deep R&D, even though she had never had a biscuits before, her first reaction was bite and chew making it looks really tasty, so we tried and boy its really tasty no joke. yes, chew! And we wonder how she knows this is to be chewed? Moreover, she got no teeth at all?

After adjusting her Baby Cot lower just last month, we got to adjust it once again. See what we meant:

She was also all dressed up for my friend's wedding dinner. Her first time to a Dinner and guess what? She's not a single bit frightened or turned off as she was carried and passed around all over the hall, with strangers even Mum and Dad didn't know them at all! Almost 4 hours and she's excited and cheerful.

Sandra is also showing the signs of some inherit genes passed down from us - gaming! Having gamers parents whom spent half of their life in front of game screens, she took the Xbox controller as if she's gonna break the game records. Not only that, mouse and keyboards were her favorites too. Well, what can we say? Like parents, like child ... oh well... ;)

Play Pan Fun!

It's really a joy just to watch Sandra do her "funny faces". New ones are being made by her almost everyday, most of them come along with funny sounds too. So, we always placed our cameras and phones near so we can snap as many of these moments as possible. Sometimes Sandra's naughty parents also made fun of her too, like sticking the "paid" sticker on her and had a good laugh, hehehe...

She also have a new... err.. toy. Ok, it's a Play Pan. she love it! She can be in it with her toys for hours. It's also safe as everything is cushioned and she can flip all over without falling.

She can sit properly on her own without need to keep an eye on her every second. It's a wonderful thing which every parent should get, which I think most have. So Sandra's everyday routine is, sleep, eat, play pan, walker, cry, mumble, make funny faces and... grab everything reachable, or even not!

Full of new suprises!

Daddy got Chicken Pox! As all of us know, it's highly contagious so I've not go anywhere near Sandra for the past week! Poor Daddy wants to hug Sandra so much.... (Mummy laughing... hmm...)

Anyway, forget about Daddy, this is Sandra's Blog! Haha...

She gets to sit the "walker" now. Some people thinks walker make kids tip toes and not very good for developing waling with it, well, I found out that Sandra tends to push her way with one foot while the other resting more often then tip toes. But she did try to stand with both legs which is good. With the help of her new walker, she now can wonder around the house freely. Err mm... should say explore... maybe messed up...

First, she licks and tastes almost all the parts of the walker, thus saliva's trails are all over. Then, trying to grab, push or bang (still not powerful enough but getting more) anything that comes to her path. So lots of cushions and chairs to block our huge mirror, fish tanks and wires. She bangs the walker whenever she wants to get out of it...

Secondly, she start eating cereals now. And quite happy with it. But took almost an hour and few hanky to finish her wonderful meal.

Third, she talks! Nothing new, but now, she do all the mummmm, boo, mmmeee, mmmemmeme.... really funny. I am amazed she talk a lot, although we had no idea what she is trying to express, but it's clearly she's trying to let us know something. Maybe "get me an Xbox 360" ha ha...

Last but not least, she observed a lot. Just shake your legs and there she goes staring and looking at you. So had to stop all the bad habits and try to make her remember and learn the good ones.

She love shopping and play with her relatives! Recently Angie (her aunt) came visit from KL and went shopping with her, she's so excited and happy! Everyday she gives us suprises, and very much joy when she laugh and play. Hooray for our little smart and cute Sandra! :D

Smart Moves!

Oh our little sandra is really cute... or maybe arrogant, proud? Ok ok she's our daughter so hey! She's smart you know *Grin*! (The long traditional passed down in-built feeling of my kid is always the best as parent starts to build up in us now).

Sandra in her mind thinking: "Heh heh, now that I can see well, I feel well, aware and actually knows how my Daddy and Mummy will react when I do certain moves, I am a smart little girl now!".
She now turns easily with a single flip, even with obstacles of boosters and pillows around her, she manage to push them away or simple flip over them. Then she'll flipped once more, and another, and another. So we had to constantly flip her over so she does not hit the floor. But every time we do that, she'll make a fuss out of it and stare at us with frustrations. She'll continue to flip after a minute or so, and again stare at us, this time with a proud and satisfying look on her face. "You can't win me heh heh heh...".

Aside from just flipping, she'll stare at the position for a very long time if we don;t turn her back. Lying down her head and mumbling when she got tired, and lifts up her head to look around and smiling (proudly). She also complaint a lot if we didn't hug her or help her in sitting position at least once a day. She can't really sit on her own although she insist, a couple of pillows around her will do the trick.

Sandra also had a new soft toy, or maybe we could say the first soft toy we bought for her. Frankly I couldn't really figure out whether its giraffe or a horse, it is blue in colour so it's even harder to figure out. Anyway, she really likes it, when we first saw it we just showed it to her to catch her attention, yet she laughed and get really excited over it. We tried several others but this one really get her going. So we decided to buy it and bring home for her. It's like her favorites toy now, whenever its with her she's really happy and hugging it, maybe this might be the loved toy of her lifetime? You know, like those which a lot of us had, something that must be with us overtime we went to bed? Hmmm... maybe...

See Me Turn!

After weeks of hard work: crying, trying, squeezing, shouting, shaking, kicking, scratching, holding and pushing Sandra finally did it! Yes, she finally managed to turn over by her own self. The very first turn was a surprise for us, as we didn't really see how she do it. She seems very proud of what she did as she stared at us with a cunning look at her face. Then, she did it again, and again, and again. Now she did that every moment, even while asleep!

We are both delighted to see she finally turn, which is about time. The problem is, not that she can't turn back, but her saliva are out of control. Yup, it drips all over on the bed instead of her face or clothes, thus, more changing of bed sheets now.
One morning, she also surprised us when we woke up and see her smiling at us with her hands out of the cot! I think it's almost time we lower the cot, who knows she might suddenly sit up or even stand!

Big Days!

Today, is my lovely wife Caroline's Birthday!

Happy Birth Day Mummy from Sandra and Daddy! Mummy's one year older now, Sandra is still 4 months plus old and can't eat cake with Mummy and Daddy, but Sandra can hug Mummy tight tight! (And Daddy too plz... ahem...)

Huge day for Sandra too when she went for her Baptism on 16 July 2006 at ST. Vincent De Paul Church. Same as Daddy me, who was also Baptized last year at the same Church. Her Certificate of Baptism should be the very first Cert she have (other than the Birth Cert which everyone has one) in her life! It's so nice to know the very first Cert was given by God, so wonderful isn't it? Her Godmother is Jacqueline, Caroline's Sister. The whole family from KL actually came to accompany her, with other relatives here too. I'm so happy for her and she seems to be so calm at Church, to our surprise, since it's her very first time there too at morning mass with hundreds of people, loud speakers, kids running around etc. She also had a good nap throughout her Baptism!

When Father poured over her head she woke up, she might think she's bathing, and then goes back sleeping after that without much fuss. It actually make us think, hmm... God gets us to prepare her for this day, as the position and pouring is the same thing she have everyday while bathing? So the day comes and she's all prepared and received it calmly and happily.

All religious are good for kids I think, and starting one as early at this age will make a good path ahead! Especially when Church teaches care, forgiveness, sharing etc... Nice!

Sandra's Believe It Or Not!

My Mum usually drop by every weekends to have some time with Sandra, so it had became like a "routine" where she might know that weekend's coming and she'll get to see Grandma. Last weekend proofed my theory. As usual, my Mum drop by and waited a while for Sabdra to wake. She woke up and my Mum eagerly hug her and start chatting with her. To our surprised, she laughed out loud like never before! My Mum didn't really do anything but just called her names etc, but her reaction was a huge burst of laughter going "Whahaha hahah eheheh!". She had fun, we realized something which we never attempted while trying to cheer her up, that is hold her in our arms and swing a little. We thought she's too young and fragile for that. We did that now everyday and yes, she laughed like crazy every time! =)

There's also another funny thing Sandra did, here's the explanation for the picture above:

1) Hey the funny Daddy and Mummy are taking pictures of me again! (Shake left and right)

2) I Pull, I Pull, I Pull..... (Pulling the cloths)

3) Yeah I did it, I made my own hat! (Note: she did the "Hat" all by herself, we didn't touch her at at all!)

Sometimes baby does really amazing things, like this, really, you'll have to see it to believe it!

Father's Day

So today's Father's day, well... unlike Mother's day, I think this day isn't as happening as Mother's day. If not for a reminder from a friend I didn't even know today's Father's day. Anyway Sandra's still young and we can only hope for a celebration from her during such special days maybe few years later...

The other day we bring her for injection. Left leg one, right leg one, and an oral medicine too. Poor thing she scream like mad, but calm down after a while luckily. The PD say she needed to lie more towards other side, as her head can been seen a bit flat on one side, gosh we hope it doesn't effect much. She's also more clever nowadays, especially during the night, she'll want us to be with her until she sleeps or she'll "shout" non-stop for us. Yeah she did not cry, but "shout" cry like with no tears. We tried not to carry her so often whenever she does not or she'll get used to it.

Sandra now is amaze by almost anything she sees, even her own hands. So funny, when she stared at her hands and wonder at it for a very long time. Also she gets to hold on to our hands to, grabbing it and smiling. She seems to be more aware of her left hand, wonder if she's going to be left handed.

Hey one of my relatives just gave birth to her 4th child! Wow, 4th! His name is Philips, oh he had so much hair and sooooo cute! Hmm.. 4th child, gee if we were to have 4 kids, will I be making 4 blogs? :D

Take a look at his photo, so cute isn't he?

New Toy

Sandra's "reacting" now, what I mean is she "response" more than previously. When we play with her, she'll move and laugh excitedly. She will stare at me and smile when I call her name. She followed our hands and toys as we move over her head. So capturing her smile is easier now as we can simply cheer her up by moving around crazily around her. It's really fun and a good work too for both her fat parents too *Grin*. Ok so she knows now, so it is time to bring out the new toy! It is a gift from our friends, we had 2 of these toys, one is bigger and the other is smaller. Ok I still can't really remember the names of these toddler's items every time I type this blog, take a look at the pictures to see what it is.

This "toy" is suppose to let the child have fun at the same time get them to start trying to train their hands to grab the toys on top. So we put her in. She stared at them, for a few minutes (while we trying to see where is the button to press for the sound of the hanging flower), another few minutes, and after a while she cries. Either she doesn't like it or the cushion is too thin so she's uncomfortable. The next day we tried again and again, she doesn't seems to like it. She prefer me to hold a noisy flower toy and flipped around her, rather than the musical flower and toys which I think are much cuter and fun. What to do but to try and let her like this new toy maybe some other time.

See how she sleeps! Haha... The loving parents (me and Caroline, ahem...) kept on covering her with the blanket and less than a few minutes all the kicking and shifting while we stare at her, her legs were exposed, followed by a satisfying big yawn and doze off proudly. Lucky it does not happen very too often, but we wonder how she manage the cold night sometimes when in the morning we found her in this manner, maybe she likes it.

More shopping! We brought her out more often since she really enjoyed it! This time instead of a funny little skirt, we dressed her up nicely with a sexy little dress. Just take a look at how excited she is now when in the stroller! She's also getting used to the car seat. We brought her one night over to a near by "pasam malam" for a quick stroll around 8pm and she doze off in the car seat happily.

Shopping Fun!

I've come to realized that when babies are 2-3 months old, you can't really tell if they are boy or girl simple by appearance, because mostly they look alike, like boys! Maybe because most have short hairs. But, if you put them in pinkish clothes then it's easy to identify. We try letting Sandra put on a skirt for the first time and see how she looks. Haha... you bet, it looks funny. Just like a baby boy trying to wear a skirt, I think it all comes down to the hair, she might look better with long silky hair.

Sandra is getting use to the stroller already, talk about strollers, I recall one of my friends mentioned he bring his kid out on a trolley. Huh trolley??? Haha anyway it was a mistake from his quick conversation, luckily me, as a new father myself doesn't make such ammusing mistakes often, or maybe in one of my previous or future postings? Ha hah...

Anyway, back to stroller. We bring Sandra to quite a few places recently on her stroller. Compass Point shopping center, IKEA, market in the morning and to checkup etc. She's doing well and seems to really enjoy with comfy in the stroller. I am so relieve that I listened to Caroline and get the more expensive stroller, as it is light weight and amazingly easy to handle, with a few clicks and it can be kept and used without much sweat. It is also extremely stable, it don;t have suspensions but Sandra can sleep all time in it even going around bums and curves. She also kinda like it when you move. She'll make a small fuss when you stop, once you push her around she enjoys it so much that she'll simply look at you and not a single sound! I am so happy for her too when we bring her out, it's a bit tiring and we didn't get to really shop freely, but it's really enjoyable! We used to wonder why people would push the stroller along with their little ones as they can't really shop since the baby needs constant care, plus the stroller is also quite obstructing when trying to get into small areas. Now we know, it's another kind of joy that cannot be experienced without this new precious princess entering into our life, she's the one that puts extra joy to our shopping!

It's also really fun WHO you can meet around with your baby in a stroller at shopping centers. One day Caroline was trying out her clothes at U2 and I waited for her outside, with Sandra that is. In less than half an hour, 6 different groups of people had stopped by and one spoke to me! Students: "Look so cute, eeeee! How old is she?" A family, with a kid and grandma: "See baby! See Baby! Last time you are like that..." A strange man around late 40s "Your first baby? Ohh.. she's really pretty! Congrats and take care. Bye..." Two mid twenties ladies: "You're the Father? Hey she looks like you! hehe...", well thanks ladies, and thanks Sandra too *Grin*.

101 Expressions

Sandra's been really busy practicing her "new expressions" and "new activities". She now express herself so much than than the past 2 months! Previously, you can only see her either close her eyes or just staring at one direction. Now, she have all kinds of cries, laughs, stares, wondering, shock, jerky, lazy, smiles etc.. well, refer to MSN emoticons and you can see most of that, he he... Yes, expressions are part of human emotions. Try making funny noises to her and she stare back with huge open wide eyes. She cries? No problem, just carry her up and she stops immediately, and almost instantly she goes crying again as you put her down. Now, it also means she KNOWS! She KNOWS, but maybe do not UNDERSTAND? Strange but quite true, she wouldn't know this Daddy or Mummy is what kind of alien whom she sees everyday, but soon she'll understand. And when she does, it'll be fun, oh ya and harder to take care of too.

Baby's so chubby that you simply cannot resist to either pinch or kiss her cheeks! So elastic and bouncy! Caroline away's scold me not to kiss her that much as she might grow pimples. But it's so irresistible I just had to do it, ha ha, Caroline kiss her alot too. Sandra's expression is so amusing when you give her a peck, she goes arggggg... turn around and stare back again with a tiny smile. She likes it, I KNOW, too, he he...

Then goes the day's activities, look here look there, watch TV (MTV, Adverts and Mission Impossible 3 trailer was her favorite, she likes cute guys aka Tom Cruise I think). Also staring at the LCD sometimes when we carry her while surfing the net, or Caroline playing Maple Story. She still can't hit the delete keys at the keyboard yet so it's pretty "safe" to carry her while we do our stuffs in front of the computer. We also tried playing children songs for her, we have about 10 CDs all for the baby - Rising Up Music, Meal Time Music, Play time Music etc. These are from one of my clients, I "borrowed *Grin* " them and store them in my comp and play to her, a total of few hundred titles! Anyway, we mixed them up so we sometimes played the Meal Time Music while she about to sleep but it doesn't really matter, she's not very interested and paying attention unlike watching her Favorite MTV Music Videos.

Her cries are getting louder and louder, and she sometime screams too, not "cry and scream" but "calling" "Ah!", "Eh!", short sharp screams, like calling for us to come over. Once we thought she's asleep and she goes "IAK!" and it shook me and Caroline, well, it's a matter of time she does that more often. A good thing is that she now seldom do that uncomfortable eweeee, herrmmm, grrr... shreeee... which she makes during her 1st month at home. She also got frightened by our sneeze, cough and sometimes dropping an item on the floor. A huge thunder roar today really shook her, well, it frightened both of her parents, me and Caroline too :)

Non-stop cleaning

Sandra likes to shower. From my friends I also realized that most babies like shower, or maybe water? Caroline took a few days "lessons" from her mum before she can handle showering for the baby. I don't think i can do it, although she keeps still when bathing but I'm just too afraid I might let accidentally slipped! She feel extremely comfortable and happy after bath, she likes the clean and cool feeling I guess.

Sometimes we found huge mucus which already dried up in the morning, maybe it's milk that she vomited out during the middle of the night which no one cleans for her. Have to "pull" it slowly not to hurt her, she seems ok anyway.

Cutting the little finger nails is also a challenge, it can only be done while she's sound asleep. I can't even hold the nail clipper properly as it is too small for my fat hands, ha ha, men just can't do some things as good. Sandra's saliva is dripping more and more each day, we used almost 5 hankies each day at least, all 80% wet! Sometimes she blow bubbles all around and gave me a fright after not looking at her for sometime while carrying her in my arms, thought she choked! She also have some funny sticky like tears around one of her eyes, her eyes are not red so we assume it's ok, hope it goes off after a while.

Cleaning never stops, so do her saliva...

Singing and Dancing Away~

There's a Zombie in your Lawn.... Recently played this game a full long week, and guess what? They love it just like I did hahaha...
