Best 2007 Christmas gift!

Mischievous Sandra now likes to make little tiny jokes, which is extremely amusing and cute. She wears Donald’s baby gloves, make funny faces, dance, tickle us, fake kisses, do the opposites, hide etc...

The most outrages things she does is hurry to occupy whoever left his/ her seats and laugh out loud, wonder where she learn that from.

Here’s some of the funny actions she learn and love to flaunt in front of the camera:

Eat eat eat… just about every minute of the day she will try to grab something to munch away. Or? Drink drink drink, asking for her Dora water-bottle now and then.

This Christmas Sandra celebrated with my Mum and Family. She had a crazy time with my nieces and nephew, and get to play a little Majong which she had not seen for quite a while.

Her present was a set of nifty table and chairs, with some toys too. How I wish I have such a nice set of table and chairs when I was young. While taking a photo of my Mum with all her grandchildren, I realize how hard and long the journey my Mum had been through to have the luxury of holding the second generation in her arms today happily… thinking how long will it take to be our turn…

Well oh well…

I guess the best 2007 Christmas gift for Sandra is mummy and daddy trying their best to love her in small ways every single day. For us, the best gifts this year are Donald's arrival, and Sandra growing healthy and strong.

Best 2007 Christmas gift!

About 4 months old, our incredible baby is hyper active! Day and night! He enjoy laughing so much during the day that we have so much fun with him, it’s so easy to capture his big smile on camera, unlike Sandra previously. But, comes night time, he’s still as active waking up every few hours. Ignoring him will make him cry like crazy for attention!

Maybe it’s because we bring him out a lot, almost a few times a week shopping, dining or just buying groceries. He’s a little tense after each trip, but he doesn’t cry much outdoors which is why we love bringing him along. Anyway, as long as he’s healthy and growing steadily and happily, we’ll just have to bear with these sleepless nights for now =)

Already he is starting to toss and turn, not a full turn but almost there. His head is much more stable now and able to sit up for a more than 15 mins with support. Also, grabbing and holding toys now! Not sure if he started teething as he enjoys finger munching, yucks! He enjoy playing with Sandra so much that as long as Sandra is beside him, he won’t make a fuss and stay smiling!

Kiss 2007 goodbye and welcome 2008! His Christmas present was a small baby Elmo with diapers that look almost like him hahaha… Anyway, it ended up as Sandra’s bedtime toy.

Well oh well…

Holiday Shopping time!

Weather in Singapore was so bad the past few weeks, almost everyone we knew got sick! And Mummy, Sandra and Donald all got sick too, lucky for Daddy he was fine. Sandra actually loves the medicines, I think because it was a little sweet and grape like tastes. But not for Donald, his medicine smells bad, not to mention the taste.

At this season of the year, rains and strong winds are expected every single day. It’s actually the best time of the year me and Caroline enjoy. Since we both love cold weathers (Still recalling the Australia’s Weather… oh my…). Anyway, now that we have kids, clothes doesn’t dry as fast and traveling outdoors becomes hazardous.

After their speedy recovery, what to do at this time of the year? Shopping!

This year’s holiday shopping is entire different with Sandra the cheeky able to have he own shopping spree by herself! She’s an incredible shopper oh gosh, she literally touches and browse every single item in stores. She grabs and hold on to her favorites which most of them end up at home… luckily, she chooses mostly small and less pricy toys. Besides toys, she enjoys outdoor meals too. She can sit with is at restaurants and fast food chains gabling away like an adult.

So, for the whole month all she does was shop, eat, sleep…

Little smart Princess

Relatives from Australia and Malaysia came by for a night stay at our place. Loads of beautiful clothes for Sandra and she tried all of them right away, like a superstar getting ready for her concert. She wouldn’t miss this opportunity to really have good trips with all to Vivo City, Sentosa and a nice dinner at Changi! I think that’s the most tiring days I ever seen her in a long time!

She can hardly stay at home nowadays. Every time Daddy leaves home for work she won’t run to follow. So about 15 mins every morning, Daddy’s routine will be bringing Sandra for a small scroll outside before he is allowed to go off…

The playground as usual, attracts kids once they have the first try. Now, whenever we walk pass the playground, no one proceeds further unless she gets a few rides and slides. We recently bought a tent for her to keep her from too much monkey business, a wise move. She keeps most of her toys in it and makes the whole house neater! But there's a problem, when you're in it with her, you can never be allowed to get out!

The climbs and rolls at the playground was also put to test at home using chairs and tables. After a few scolding, she now imitates the way we point at her and scolds us back every now and then… this little princess would just not stop out-smart us every single day!

Laughing Buddah!

If we weren’t looking at Donald everyday, we would not believe he is the same baby 2 months ago. He changed so much that it was like a different baby overnight! Amazingly, he grew almost 3KG and now it’s tiring just to carry him for more than 15 mins!

Besides the physical changes, the “mood” changes dramatically too! Luckily it’s better than worse. He used to cry out loud everyday but now he’s calmer. Amazingly, out of a sudden one day he started laughing and smiling. And there onwards, he just keeps smiling and laughing every time we speak with him. It’s surprising but fun and a relief too. He still cries like a hungry lion, yes, only when he is... err... hungry. :P

We also noticed he is extremely attracted to Sandra whenever she pass by him or play with him. She would make some funny faces or imitate us teasing him, while Donald stared at her and laughs. Sibling ties… another amazing life experience for us…

More than words

The siblings are doing well so far. For Donald it was all the picking ups as he cries whenever he’s not held in our arms. Little Sandra gets smarter and all the chasing and reminding to her: “No climbing!!”, “No cannot eat one!!”, “No don’t pull Di Di’s Leg!”, “No this is not Apple, it is Orange!”…

Sayang Donald! Quick snap a pic to show Di Di next time he grows up so he'll give me his pocket money for being a nice Sis...

New words came out from her mouth almost daily! Apple, bananas was nothing, now she recognized and can say “baby”, “Car”, “Bee”, “Flower”, “Chick”, “dog”, “Dora”, “ear”, “Nose”, “Bird” and the most widely used “No lah!”. After observing us, she now points her finger at us and goes “Orrhhh!” whenever we drop something or did something she thinks it’s wrong.

She may look silly when reacting to some TV shows, but she’s definitely learning it. Realizing she’s using the toy spoon to imitate writing on paper from Disney Channel, I gave her some papers and child-safe crayons and surprise! She starts scribbling almost instantly… then… for the whole day … then… next day … then… on floors. Before she starts realizing wall scribbling can be so much fun it’s time to keep them for the time being.

Funny little Donald

I recall Sandra when she’s about 2 months old she was really tiny. Whereas Donald, he now almost couldn’t fit into the small size clothes already! He grows! It’s amazing to wake up in the morning looking at him and noticed a slight growth from the day before, really can tell just by looking!

As usual, Donald is still crying loud (even louder) all day, we never had so much noise before at home. There’s a cute Macdonald advertisement (Watch it here) some time ago, where a baby was sitting on a swing looking out at the window. Whenever he swing to in view of the roof of Macdonald’s logo he would smile, then cries as he swings back away from the window out of view. Take out the “Mac”, carry “Donald” in our arms he’ll be as peaceful as a new born bird, put him down on the bed and he’ll cry like a … well … baby…

Then came to our rescue is the ingenious invention to all Asian parents – the Baby Rocking Sarong! It gives us a whole load of time to take a break and luckily he loves it! He also vomit less sleeping in Sarong compared to us holding him. We have an automatic rocker but he does not need it, just a few push and he’ll doze off like a … well… baby. :)
Despite our murderous mood these few weeks due to poor sleeping nights, we observed the siblings as close as we can and noticed similar behaviors to ours when we are young told by our mums. I concluded that we might need to get prepared for a upcoming war! War of the 2 little ones that’ll physically and mentally challenge us! Why? Because history will repeats itself, Caroline was mischievous and I was a real trouble maker!

But then hor… it seems all worth while fighting this battle and we are actually eager to be in. :D

Ransack at home!

This week, we taped to secure some of our study room’s drawers. Yes, T-A-P-E-D! Reason was Sandra now loves to rummage through every possible cupboards and drawers she can find in the entire house. She will go through every single item, removing them and leave them just there and walk away. Most of our drawers had no locks thus we simply taped them up so she couldn't open them, since most the drawers contains unsafe stuffs like plucks and wires. So what happened was she then turned to her toys and the entire place was filled up with her toys all over. Not only that, almost any other storage items like bags, boxes and wallets were her targets too…

We brought her and Donald to the doctor the other day, as usual the clinic were packed with kids of her age. First she was playing with an elder boy, she kissed him! Follow by another younger boy! Oh gosh, we should start teaching her not to kiss everybody she met, especially boys.

So how’s Sandra dealing now with little brother Donald? It couldn’t be better! Already got used to the cries of Donald and she also starts playing with him. We had to look out though as she pass him her toys. She even helped to shake him to sleep (well.. sort of).

Hmm... I am pretty Sandra...

Donald a month old!

Just like that, Donald is now 1 month old. It’s the very first trip outside to a restaurant for dinner celebrating his full month. Also his very first “meal” at a restaurant, milk of course… :)

As a 2nd child in the family, we noticed he gets slightly less attention. Not that we are bias, but because we are more experienced now so we tend to be more fluent in handling him, knowing what to do whenever he cries, reacting more correctly like when to change his diapers and feed. Furthermore, he shouts really loud so we need not to be close to him all day. *grin*

The first trip to the Doctor was smooth and he cries only a while after the jab. A month old and quickly Donald began to “take shape”, his looks now changed rather than the usual “all the same baby look”. He is more aware of the environment, makes more noises and move more quickly. Not surprisingly, he behaves almost just the same as Sandra’s 1st month old, and even starting to look more alike with her!

Smiles are more often now, I even managed to snap a few of him smiling. He looks really good when smiling, often I can sort of foresee how he’ll look when he grow up. Like Sandra previously, he stretched and moans every now and then, I remembered we were really worried and couldn’t sleep well the last time Sandra did that all night, but now still woke up by him but not as wary. Another similar action with Sandra? His eyes opened as wide as Sandra's at 12:00 mindnight almost everyday... sigh...

A small suprise, he can grab the milk bottle! Not really holding it, just sort of grabbing the bottle with both hands while he drinks. We can also feel he is much more impatience than Sandra, he tends to be more demanding too. He feeds a lot, 90ml for a month old baby is a lot, and almost every 2 hours! One thing we’re very happy about him, he burps really fast and a lot too…

Singing and Dancing Away~

There's a Zombie in your Lawn.... Recently played this game a full long week, and guess what? They love it just like I did hahaha...
